Restructuring of a typical ardèchoise house “La Maison Chocolat”
The project is based on a fundamental idea: To open up the space and create smooth and functional movement throughout the house.
The desire to play on contrasts makes way for the use of traditional materials – stone, lime plaster – and modern materials – raw concrete, frosted glass, oxidized iron and light wood.
Light colours enlarge the space and make it feel airy: White walls and ceilings, maple wood. The floors emphasize the entire design idea: Blue tiling in the living spaces, warm merbeau parquet in the sleeping areas.
The furniture (bathroom and kitchen pieces, book cases, beds, wardrobes, wine cellar storage) is custom-made and made to measure.
